Mentor Announces Enhancements to Analog FastSPICE Platform

Mentor, a Siemens business, announced enhancements to its Analog FastSPRICE Platform by introducing the FastSPICE eXtreme technology for nanometer-scale verification.

Mentor, a Siemens business, announced enhancements to its Analog FastSPRICE Platform by introducing the FastSPICE eXtreme technology for nanometer-scale verification. The new technology was produced to boost simulation performance while maintaining foundry-certified accuracy that is required for nanometer-scale analog verification.

Initial users showed simulation performance boosts of 10x compared to the company’s pervious FastSPICE offering and 3x simulation performance acceleration.

Further, the platform provides rapid circuit verification for nanometer analog, radio frequency (RF), mixed-signal, memory, and custom digital circuits. It is foundry certified to 5nm.

FastSPICE eXtreme features resistor-capacitor (RC) circuit reduction algorithms, performance improvements to FastSPICE core SPICE matrix solver, and device noise analysis capabilities.

eXtreme in complementary to the company’s Symphony Mixed-Signal Platform, leveraging the Analog FastSPICE circuit simulator. Per a company press release, the Symphony platform supports verification of complex, nanometer-scale mixed-signal ICs with an intuitive use model, debugging capabilities, and configuration support.
