Munich and Wolfsburg, Germany. Infineon Technologies AG has partnered with Volkswagen Group’s strategic supplier network – Future Automotive Supply Tracks, or FAST – to advance electric vehicle technology.

Infineon will help accelerate Volkswagen's move toward electric drivetrains, as its power modules control the automaker's modular electric drive matrix (MEB). FAST will also involve Infineon and Volkswagen discussing future semiconductor requirements.

“Together with our customers, we want to ensure that electro-mobility becomes part of people’s everyday life,” said Infineon’s President of the Automotive Division, Peter Schiefer. “Together with Volkswagen, we can identify requirements early on and create innovations that increase the range of electric vehicles or reduce charging times, for example.”

“Cooperation with strong partners is a key factor for the success of our electric offensive,” said Volkswagen Group’s Head of Procurement Connectivity, eMobility and Driver Assistance, Michael Baecker. “Our e-models feature technologies and ideas from the most innovative companies in our industry.”
