IAR Systems Releases Embedded Software Building on Linux

IAR Systems announced its portfolio of embedded development tools has been extended with build tools that support implementations in Linux-based frameworks.

IAR Systems announced its portfolio of embedded development tools has been extended with build tools that support implementations in Linux-based frameworks.

Through IAR’s Embedded Workbench, a C/C++ compiler and debugger, the company has a broad range of microcontroller support. The flexibility now extends to the build environment as the build tools in the Workbench now support Linux.

The new tools enhance code quality, optimization of size and speed, and faster build times. The tools also enable large-scale deployments of critical software building and testing and is suitable for installations ranging from a few licenses on a small build server, to massive installations with a several hundred parallel builds active at the same time.

Resources are optimized with streamlined development and testing, with regards to license management and serve utilization.

According to a press release, the build tools for Linux includes the highly optimizing IAR C/C++ Compiler, IAR Assembler, Linker and library tools, and runtime libraries. The tools are validated to run on the Ubuntu Linux distribution version 18.04.3 and later, and currently supports Arm and Renesas RH850.
