Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC), a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, announced that Black Box, an industry-leading provider of Pro AV connectivity and signal distribution systems, has integrated Semtech's BlueRiver® technology for SDVoE™ (Software Defined Video over Ethernet) into its award-winning MCX multimedia distribution and management system. MCX products take advantage of modern 10 GbE infrastructure to allow AV and data payloads to coexist over IT networks.

"Semtech's BlueRiver technology enabled Black Box to offer products accelerating the consolidation of AV and data on a single network, while enabling flexible, mixed-use case applications," said Jonathan McCune, Director of Product Management for AV and Infrastructure at Black Box. "By converging AV and data signals to the same network, our BlueRiver-enabled MCX solutions reduce network management time and cost for the customer."

Black Box's MCX products enable organizations in virtually any industry to reduce network management time and cost by converging AV and data on a single network. MCX products leverage Semtech's BlueRiver technology to support current SDVoE-enabled uncompressed 4K60 AV over Ethernet. Black Box's MCX S7 distributes AV signals to an unlimited number of remote displays with near zero source-to-display latency and seamless switching, while supporting HDMI 2.0 over IP (Internet Protocol). The MCX S9 supports advanced scaling options for multiview, picture-in-picture (PIP), split screen, HDMI 2.0, and DisplayPort 1.2 over IP for advanced mixed use case applications. Black Box's innovative MCX products have begun shipping, visit the Black Box website for more information.

"Black Box's award-winning MCX line of products join a growing ecosystem of SDVoE-based solutions that are changing the industry through flexible, Ethernet-based AV transmission," said Don Shaver, Vice President of Video Products for Semtech's Signal Integrity Products Group. "BlueRiver offers advanced processing capabilities beyond what is possible with a matrix switch, enabling MCX users to take full advantage of uncompressed 4K60 AV distribution without compromising latency, quality or bandwidth."
