Trackwise’s flexible printed circuits serve medical device demands

Trackwise, a manufacturer of specialist products using printed circuit technology, announced its intent to address advanced medical technology needs with its Improved Harness Technology (IHT). Responding to a cross-industry requirement for greater functionality in smaller and lighter packages for use in catheters and other restricted spaces.

Advanced FPCs serve catheter construction with their ability to be fed inside a catheter without introducing bulges, their flexing characteristics, with significant weight, size and mechanical strength advantages when compared with traditional wiring techniques. IHT employs a patented process to manufacture multilayer flexible printed circuits of unlimited length, overcoming the previous length constraints of conventional FPCs manufacture (typically 610mm).
