Boundary Devices, the company who designed the globally adopted i.MX 6 SABRE Lite development board (now BD-SL-i.MX6), is pleased to announce the availability of its Nitrogen8M Single Board Computer (SBC) for the general embedded and IoT markets. The Nitrogen8M will be the first commercially designed and tested i.MX 8M based SBC solution to hit the market.

The Nitrogen8M is available now for pre-order, with boards beginning to ship in Spring 2018. At launch Boundary Devices is offering the following 3 options:


• Nitrogen8M Board


• Nitrogen8M Board + Accessory Kit (5V power, serial cable, antenna, battery, SD Card pre-loaded with LinuxOS)


• Nitrogen8M Development Kit (accessory kit + touch screen display) – Available Soon

The Nitrogen8M features NXP’s new i.MX 8M Quad processor and USB 3.0 to support today’s data hungry applications that require high-performance, low-power processors. The board also features a robust set of features that will allow for rapid evaluation and development for a variety of embedded and IoT applications.

The Nitrogen8M will come standard with 2Gb of LPDDR4 of RAM, with a 4GB version also available. The launch version will feature a microSD Card slot, with an optional 8GB eMMC version that can be expanded up to 128GB. It will come pre-populated with a variety of connectivity options and will be built with Boundary Device’s industry-leading, production-ready standards and include options such as industrial temp and conformal coating options.
