IoT Roadshow, San Jose, CA – WindSpring: Size definitely matters when you’re sending data

May 31, 2016

I saw some demos at WindSpring that really got my attention. The company takes data compression to a level that I had not seen before. One great example was a device that’s a person locator/communicator that could work equally well for a either a kid or a senior. The key is that the GPS info it constantly spits out would overwhelm your typical monthly family plan, but by compressing the data before sending it, the costs are more than reasonable. The process is better explained in the video by Tom Hunt, President and CEO of WindSpring.
