Industrial IoT Roadshow – Chandler, AZ: Microchip and the 8-bit Self-Healing IIoT Mesh

On the Industrial IoT Roadshow, Embedded Computing Design's technology editor Brandon Lewis caught up with Stephen Porter, Software Manager in the Wireless Solutions Group at Microchip Technology. There, Porter demonstrated a 802.15.4 MiWi self-healing mesh network. If that wasn't enough, the connectivity stack comprised a mere 30 KB of code space, allowing it to run on a small 8-bit PIC microcontroller. This is cost conscious Industrial IoT epitomized.
