Nissan Adopts Renesas’ Automotive Chips for New Skyline ProPILOT 2.0

Nissan Motor Co. has adopted Renesas’ automotive technology for the ProPILOT 2.0 system featured in the new Nissan Skyline.

The ProPILOT 2.0 is a driver assistance system that merges navigated highway driving with hands-off, single-lane driving capabilities, leveraging Renesas’ R-Car automotive system-on-chip (SoC) and RH850 automotive control microcontroller (MCU) to operate in the electronic control units (ECUs) that maintain driving judgment and control. 

The ProPILOT 2.0 connects to the vehicle’s navigation system, keeping it on designated roadways’ predefined route as well as on-ramp and off-ramp highway driving.
