Microchip has introduced its SAM R34/35 System-in-Package (SiP) series with an ultra-low-power 32-bit microcontroller (MCU), sub-GHz RF LoRa transceiver and software stack.
Certified reference designs and proven interoperability with major LoRaWAN gateway and network providers support the new SAM R34/35 SiPs in an effort to simplify hardware and software development processes.
The SAM R34/35 devices are powered by the SAM L21 Arm Cortex-M0+ based MCU to provide sleep modes as low as 790 nA, significantly diminishing power consumption and extending battery life in end applications. It is conducive for a wide gamut of long-range, low-power IoT applications that require small form factor designs and many years of battery life.
Microchip’s SAM R34/35 LoRa family has six different versions where developers can choose the best combination of memory and peripherals for their end application. SAM R34 devices offer a 64-lead TFBGA package and the SAM R35 devices are available sans USB interface.
