Laird Releases BT710 Bluetooth Tracking Device

Laird Connectivity announced the release of the Sentrius BT710 tracker for real-time social distancing and contact tracing.

Laird Connectivity announced the release of the Sentrius BT710 tracker for real-time social distancing and contact tracing. The Bluetooth tracker takes advantage of long-range Bluetooth 5. Further, it has three user alerts that include four LEDs, vibration, and a beeper.

The BT710 will log the information obtained from other BT710s that it has been in contact with and its duration. Per the company, the data can be downloaded from the BT710 trackers using Laird Connectivity's MG100 Bluetooth Low Energy to cellular micro gateway or the IG60 gateway which provides Wi-Fi, Ethernet or cellular connectivity.

The new tracker integrates the Laird TruPoint Antenna Diversity System for more accurate location performance. It is powered by a CR2477 battery for an extended lifetime compared to usual Bluetooth beacons.

BT710 is compact enough to attach to a lanyard or the built-in clip can be utilized. In the future, the company plans to enable wristband and helmet word adaptors. Users are given the ability to customize the BT710 enclosure.
