Infineon and Rompower to Advance USB-PD Chargers

January 9, 2020 Alix Paultre

Infineon Technologies and Rompower are working on the development of universal USB-PD chargers (Power Delivery) with a high efficiency and compact design. USB-PD is made possible by the universal USB-C connector,  and the next development stage will be permanently installed USB-PD wall outlets.

In the medium term, USB-PD charging sockets will be used in public buildings, such as airports and hotels. The first step is the development of system solutions for compact fast chargers for smartphones and USB-PD wall outlets.
