Fujitsu Launches a Series of Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy Wireless Modules

Enables increased IoT device functionality with minimal engineering efforts and development costs.

San Jose, CA. Fujitsu Components America recently released the FWM7BLZ20B series of Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy wireless modules to meet the high communication speed requirements of IoT devices and applications.

The new FWM7BLZ20B series is powered by Nordic Semiconductor's nRF52832 SoC and features:

  • lower power consumption than classic Bluetooth
  • increased communication speed
  • 255 bytes LE advertising extensions
  • other expansions to Bluetooth 4.x

The series includes two models: FWM7BLZ20B and FWM7BLZ20B-109077. The FWM7BLZ20B module contains Fujitsu Components embedded firmware, which enables complicated Bluetooth protocol stack handling by simple text commands via UART.

FWM7BLZ20B-109077 is a blank module without Fujitsu Components firmware. Users can develop their unique firmware including X2 speed and LE advertising extension using tools provided by Nordic Semiconductor.
