ByteSnap to Highlight Electric Vehicle Smart Charging Solutions at Engineering Design Show 2019

ByteSnap Design will be appearing at the Engineering Design Show 2019 to present its Vehicle-to-Grid and electric vehicle charge point solutions.

ByteSnap Design will be appearing at the Engineering Design Show 2019 taking place October 16-17 at the Ericsson Exhibition Hall, Ricoh Arena, Coventry, Stand L22 to present its Vehicle-to-Grid and electric vehicle charge point solutions, featuring a sneak-peek at the RAY: Smart Charge Point Communications Controller.

RAY supports both AC charge points and DC chargers leveraging the latest communication standards and was created to satisfy new specific regulations.

“The U.K. government says that any charge point eligible for an OLEV [Office for Low Emission Vehicles] grant must be ‘smart.’ This regulatory requirement has only just come into force and means that charge points must be controllable to help load balance the electricity supply network and prevent overload and permanent damage,” said Dunstan Power, Director of ByteSnap. “In addition to meeting the government’s latest regulations, our robust, new products will help charge point manufacturers and installers effectively develop competitive charge points whilst meeting customer demand. They’ll also work well within the existing power infrastructure.”

ByteSnap will also be divulging its VIGIL initiative and developing products for the electric vehicle industry.

VIGIL, meaning (Vehicle-to-Grid Intelligent Control), financed by the OLEV and the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), focuses on creating a new communication and control platform for Vehicle-to-Grid/Building (V2G/V2B) systems.

ByteSnap’s Senior Software Engineer, Julian Skidmore, will also be speaking at the event. The EV Charge Point Journey: What’s the Final Destination? will occur from 11:15 am – 12:00 pm on October 16 and will delve into EV technology.
