Antenna Company Launches Inaugural Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) Array for 5G mm-Wave Applications

64-antenna DRA design significantly improves performance over conventional patch arrays.

Antenna Company will be appearing at MWC19 Los Angeles from October 22-24, 2019 at South Hall Stand, MR1477 to highlight the industry’s first 5G dielectric resonator phased antenna array conducive for 5G mm-wave applications.

The 64-antenna DRA combines the company’s proprietary SuperShape and DRA technology for wide-band operation over 24-30 GHz frequency bands reducing scanning losses, diminishing sidelobe levels and has a greater maximum scan angle compared to a conventional patch array using the same configuration and inter-element separation.

The design obtains over 40 dBm of peak EIRP, conducive for use in customer-premise-equipment (CPE) products. The design backs 37-40 GHz frequency bands for global band support across the mm-wave spectrum.
