ams’ TMD2635 comes in an ultra-small package that occupies just 1mm3 of volume and allows True Wireless Stereo (TWS) audio manufacturers to develop smaller, lighter industrial design earbuds.
TMD2635 includes an IR proximity sensor that detects when the device is taken in and out of the ear, helping to extend battery life between charges. It has an average active-mode current consumption of 70µA and 0.7µA in Sleep mode. It also enables elementary touchless gesture control, eliminating the need for buttons.
The TMD2635 module is a light-to-digital sensor module that implements a low power infrared VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) emitter, two sensor pixels for near- and far-field sensing, and a digital fast-mode I2C interface, all in a miniature land grid array (LGA) package.
Unit pricing is $0.89 for a quantity of 1,000 units. For sample requests, go to https://ams.com/tmd2635.
