American Portwell Technology Announces APTNS Series, Latest Addition

New 1U Network Appliance powered by Intel Xeon Processor D Family and Intel Core Processors (Kaby Lake/Coffee Lake).

American Portwell Technology, Inc. announced the latest addition to its APTNS series with a 1U rackmount network communication appliance that features scalable and upgradable computing performance and easy expansion of high-speed network interfaces.

The new APTNS supports up to 17 LAN ports for a variety of appliances and is powered by Intel’s Xeon processor D family and Intel Core processors Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake. The device’s hot-swappable fan and optional redundant power supply unit support quick and easy field maintenance.

The unit is designed to support applications mainly in the enterprise network security arena and deliver a substantial collaboration of performance, flexibility and upgradeability in data center network server, firewall, access point control, unified threat management applications and as a software defined server.

“The COM Express design itself benefits customers by enabling them to select a variety of different processor modules without re-inventing the wheel,” said Frank Yeh, Portwell’s product marketing manager. “In addition, the Xeon D Processor and Intel mobile processing modules enable power savings together with power consumption to support our customers in the energy conservation initiatives.”
