Monthly Project14 competition invites entrants of all skill levels to share and document creative project ideas for the chance to win special prizes

Chicago, October 15, 2018: element14.com, the online community for engineers, has announced the launch of their latest Project14 design contest, offering members the opportunity to develop a test instrumentation project using any components they like. The most creative submissions will be entered to win a professional tool set from Newark element14 and a $100 shopping credit to use on the Newark element14 transactional site.

A monthly design competition open to entrants of all skill levels, Project14 is aimed at helping participants showcase their talents and learn from one another. Members of the element14 community vote in an open poll to select a new theme each month, which entrants can then interpret in any way they see fit.

Prizes for the Test Instrumentation Design Contest include an 18-piece Journeyman tool set and a six-piece trim-out tool kit, both from Klein Tools. In addition, entrants who submit an idea involving the BBC micro:bit will receive a free device from the element14 community to help them develop their project.

Dianne Kibbey, Global Head of Community and Social Media for the element14 Community and Premier Farnell, said: “At element14.com, we welcome members of all skill levels, from new starters to experienced engineers. Project14 is our way of encouraging these members to share their skills and turn their ideas into real world projects.”

“The theme of test instrumentation incorporates many of the core disciplines of engineering, from working with microcontrollers and development boards to soldering and customization. I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of creative and innovative projects our members are able to come up with for this competition.”

element14 Community member and Project14 participant Frank Milburn added: “I would encourage anyone, especially students and those that might be watching from the sidelines, to enter these contests. I have learned something from each one I have entered, and have always received encouragement and helpful suggestions from community members.”

To enter the Project14 Test Instrumentation Design Contest, participants simply need to register an account at the element14 Community and submit a blog entry detailing their idea and how they plan to develop it.

Submissions are open until November 14, 2018. For more information including full terms and conditions, visit https://www.element14.com/community/community/p[...]
