Cylynt Software Monetization and Anti-Piracy Summit Goes Virtual October 28-29

This year's Cylynt Software Monetization and Anti-Piracy Summit features 11 presentations and two roundtables covering a range of topics related to software monetization, anti-piracy and unauthorized use, cybersecurity, license compliance and data privacy technologies.

The virtual Summit will be held Wednesday, October 28, and Thursday, October 29, with technologists, attorneys and executives in the private and public sector highlighting critical issues and best practices for protecting software intellectual property (IP). Early Bird Registration ends Thursday, October 15, for the event targeted to license compliance professionals, software developers, corporate attorneys and other senior executives in sales, marketing, finance and operations.

The keynote will be delivered Wednesday beginning at 9:15 a.m. P.D.T by David DiMillo, vice president of global solutions sales at Thales eSecurity, who will describe "Software as a Service (SaaS)-ification of On-Premise Software."

Two presentations, "Anti-Piracy Guide to the U.S. Legal System" by Glenn Forbis, patent litigator at Harness Dickey and "Prevailing in Piracy Litigation in the U.S." from Denise Migrone, partner with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, will address legal claims against software pirates and unlicensed users.

Three presentations and a roundtable will examine geopolitical anti-piracy challenges. "Living the headlines: The Impact of U.S./China Geopolitics on Business Operations" will be presented by Kent Kedl, partner at Control Risks. Chris Bailey, principal at Rouse & Co., will speak on "Anti-Piracy Enforcement and Challenges in Southeast Asia -- A Snapshot." "The Pros and Cons of License Compliance in Russia" will be given by Evgeny Danilov, regional director at IT Compliance Association (ITCA). Graham Kill, Cylynt's executive chairman, will lead experts from Dassault Systèmes, Siemens, Hexagon and Rouse in a roundtable discussion about "Accomplishing Piracy Revenue Recovery in China and Recommendations for Protecting IP."

A presentation from Bob Smith, executive director of the Electronic System Design Alliance (ESD Alliance), a SEMI Technology Community, will offer a look at "Combatting Software Piracy Through Industry Trade Organizations." The issue of managing cybersecurity while working at home will be discussed in a presentation by Jay Buck of Connor Consulting, "Lessons Learned During COVID: How to Leverage Data & Technology to Scale Engagement and Growth. A second roundtable discussion on "Managing the Software IP Risks of Working Remotely," led by Rory O'Connor, Cylynt consultant, with experts from Thales and Siemens.

The annual Cylynt Users Group Meeting will be held Tuesday, October 27.
