Royal DSM is entering in a partnership with Origin to develop new materials for additive manufacturing, and explore new applications. The companies are currently working to optimize DSM's novel photopolymer material for Origin's 'programmable photopolymerization' (P3) technology. Both companies have been working to optimize DSM's materials for Origin's platform, with Somos PerFORM HW being the first DSM material to join the Origin line-up.

Somos PerFORM HW serves applications that require strong, stiff, and high-temperature resistant parts, such as aerodynamic modeling and potentially rapid tooling. The material will be available for sampling at the time of the commercial launch of Origin's printer, and additional materials will become available for Origin's platform in the coming months.
