Ampleon’s line of 12V laterally diffused metal oxide semiconductor (LDMOS) transistors target commercial, public safety, and defense mobile radio applications. The device portfolio covers ceramic and plastic TO270 packages, with a minimum longevity commitment of 15 years. The first products released, the BLP9LA25S and the BLP5LA55S, are designed for 12V nominal mobile operation over the entire VHF and UHF frequency bands from 2 to 941 MHz, delivering 25 W and 55 W, respectively. The extremely rugged devices enable greater than 18 dB of gain and greater than 65 percent efficiency over the full operating frequency range and can handle extreme mismatch levels over 65:1 voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR).
