Wind River released the Wind River Helix™ Virtualization Platform (Helix Platform), combining the company’s commercial real-time operating system (RTOS) with embedded Linux distribution into an edge compute software platform, enabling other operating systems to run unaffected within the same framework.

The Helix Platform assists a gamut of critical infrastructure development needs including highly-dynamic environments sans certification requirements, to highly-regulated static applications such as in avionics and industrial, in addition to systems involving the combination of safety-certified applications with non-certified, such as in automotive.
