TAIYO YUDEN Reduces the Thickness of 1005-Size 3-Terminal Multilayer Ceramic Caps by 23 Percent

With a lower ESL than two-terminal devices, the caps can reduce impedance in the high-frequency range and contribute to the stable operation of ICs driven at high speed.

TAIYO YUDEN launched its 1005-size three-terminal multilayer ceramic capacitor A3K105BBJ106MR, measuring 1.0×0.5×0.5 mm, a capacitance of 10 μF, and rated voltage of 4.0 V. With a lower ESL than two-terminal devices, the caps can reduce impedance in the high-frequency range and contribute to the stable operation of ICs driven at high speed.

The thickness has been reduced by approximately 23 percent compared to legacy devices, and the product can be used as a decoupling capacitor for power supply lines for ICs in response to demand for smaller and thinner devices, such as IoT-related devices. Production will commence at the company's Tamamura Plant starting in March 2019.
