Swissbit to Demonstrate Crypto-Enabled Flash Memories Using Raspberry Pi at embedded world 2019

BRONSCHHOFEN, SWITZERLAND. Swissbit will showcase memory cards and USB drives with firmware-based cryptographic features and integrated secure elements at embedded world 2019. The secure cryptographically enhanced storage solutions enable secure boot or authentication and encryption applications, with more flexibility than a soldered TPM.

The company will also introduce the concept of a network policy server for Industry 4.0 applications by using a Raspberry Pi to control and manage Swissbit crypto-enabled flash memories. These flash products can be used as authentication tokens or boot devices, enabling two-factor authentication for individual IP addresses so that devices can only boot on a defined network. The Raspberry Pi will administer various policies that grant or deny memory access.

Swissbit’s PU-50n DP USB stick with internal AES-256-bit encryption, access protection and optional ROM/WORM function, will act as one of the authentication/boot devices.

The company will also showcase industrial-grade 3D NAND in the form of an NVMe PCIe M.2 module.
