SEMI and FIRST Global Join Forces to Encourage the Pursuit of STEM Education and Careers

SEMI formed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FIRST Global to help make the FIRST Global Challenge more accessible to young students worldwide and encourage them to follow a STEM education.

SEMI formed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FIRST Global to help make the FIRST Global Challenge more accessible to young students worldwide and encourage them to follow a STEM education.

The MOU supports SEMI Works, the all-inclusive SEMI program designed to provide educational programs for all age groups across all areas of education. SEMI Works aspires to find more talent in the semiconductor industry and remedy its shortage of skilled workers.

“With workforce development [being] a top strategic priority at SEMI, supporting FIRST Global makes sense as it gives young people around the world opportunities to collaborate and helps expose them to STEM careers through experiential learning opportunities,” said SEMI’s president and CEO, Ajit Manocha. “We are excited to be partnering with FIRST Global, which shares SEMI’s passion for inspiring young students to pursue educations and ultimately careers in STEM disciplines.”
