SEGGER Supports Renesas' new ARM-based RA Family of Microcontrollers

The brand new Renesas RA family hits the ground running with the availability of SEGGER?s complete package of professional software tools and libraries.

Monheim, Germany – October 8, 2019. In keeping with the long-standing partnership between Renesas and SEGGER, the brand new Renesas RA family hits the ground running with the availability of SEGGER’s complete package of professional software tools and libraries.

Support includes SEGGER’s RTOS and software libraries in the areas of communication, compression, data storage, graphics, security and IoT. SEGGER’s Embedded Studio integrated development environment (IDE), the company’s market-leading J?Link debug probes, its portfolio of Flasher production programmers, plus the Ozone debugger and SystemView system verification tool also support the new RA family.

“SEGGER software is designed from the ground up to run on different platforms, so it was easy for us to add support for Renesas’ RA family,” said Rolf Segger. “Our software libraries can be used on the entire line of Renesas microcontrollers, microprocessors and SoCs, from the ARM-based RA and RZ, to the RH850, RX and even 16-bit M16C or RL78 devices.”
