Panasonic Industry Europe Capacitors Empower the Latest Raspberry Pi

The newly-developed low-cost power supply of the Raspberry Pi 4 is equipped with Polymer OSCON capacitors from Panasonic Industry Europe.

The newly-developed low-cost power supply of the Raspberry Pi 4 is equipped with Polymer OSCON capacitors from Panasonic Industry Europe, with the Raspberry Pi Foundation replacing two 1206 MLCCs with one of the company’s Polymer SP capacitors. Offering a capacitance value of 100µF as well as an ESR of 15mΩ max, the 7.3 x 4.3 x 1.9 mm SP capacitor helped optimize design processes and capabilities of the Raspberry Pi 4.

The Raspberry Pi 4’s power supply uses two Panasonic Industry Europe OSCON Polymer capacitors, with a rated voltage of 6.3VDC, a ripple current of 5600 mA rms, an operating temperature range from -55° to 105°C. The capacitor is also capable of withstanding harsh environments for up to 5000 hours.
