NGMN Begins Project Focusing on Vision, Drivers for 6G

The Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Board announced it has begun a project that focuses on the vision and drivers for 6G.

The NGM Alliance has provided guidance for 4G and 5G, which supports global alignment and ensures next gen mobile networks meet ecosystem requirements.

NGMN’s Work Programme focuses on reaching the full potential of 5G. Based on the alliance’s second 5G white paper, it continues to work on existing 5G activities and launch new activities including the Green Future Networks project, Vertical Industry Engagement, and Network Slicing Requirements for operating systems in 5G smartphones.

The 6G Vision and Drivers project was developed to provide early and timely direction for global 6G activities. Per the company, it will also facilitate information exchanges within its internal partnership and relevant stakeholders.
