42Crunch Introduces Small-Footprint, Low-Latency Micro API Firewall for Kubernetes Containers

42Crunch security deploys a 20 MB micro API firewall to protect microservices from attacks or vulnerabilities.

The latest release of 42Crunch’s API security platform fully supports for Kubernetes environments, helping organizations automate API security and implement zero-trust security architectures that protect individual microservices.

42Crunch security deploys a 20 MB micro API firewall to protect microservices from attacks or vulnerabilities. The micro API firewall is deployed in sidecar proxy mode within Kubernetes pods, and incurs only sub-millisecond latencies when enforcing API security. As a result, individual API security policies do not have to be written and maintained manually.

The 42Crunch also provides a suite of features for integration with DevSecOps pipelines. This helps automate security across the API lifecycle. These features include:

  • AUDIT: More than 200 security audit tests run against the OpenAPI specification detail how developers can strengthen APIs.
  • SCAN: Live scans of API endpoints help discover potential vulnerabilities and discrepancies of API implementations versus API contracts.
  • PROTECT: A launch service for the micro API firewall helps apply policies and protect APIs.
