FREMONT, CALIF. — October 26, 2018 — American Portwell Technology, Inc., (www.portwell.com) a wholly owned subsidiary of Portwell, Inc., a world-leading innovator in the embedded computing market and a member of the Intel Embedded and Communications Alliance (Intel ECA), announces the GPUS-8816, a 4U customizable system based on Intel Xeon/ Core processor. Portwell’s new GPUS-8816 harnesses the power of Intel’s 7th generation Xeon E3-1200 v6 series/Core i3/i5/i7 CPU to support two full size x16 graphics cards and an M.2 NVMe SSD. With its high performance, GPUS-8816 is designed for 3D imaging, DNA sequencing and applications that require high computing power and graphic performance.

The new GPUS-8816 is the perfect GPU 4U server for such applications as 3D image rendering, medical image processing, DNA sequencing, graphic design simulation, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, video streaming and virtual reality.

Among GPUS-8816’s many features are dual GbE Ethernet port and support of 2x dual slot full-size PCIe x 16 cards; 2 x ECC/non-ECC DDR4 S0DIMM; 1x M.2 NVMe SSD, 1 x mSATA, and 1x 1.25? SATA III drive. According to Andy Chen, Portwell’s product marketing manager, the new GPUS-8816 is specifically designed for graphic/image intensive applications that require both high computing power and high graphic processing performance. “Customers will like this product because it not only provides the raw power they need for their applications,” Chen confirms, “but also includes extra storage capacity via the mSATA, 2.5? SATA III drive to ensure the user benefits from both high throughput and high density in this image server. What’s more,” Chen adds, “it is designed to host dual GPU cards within a space-saving footprint, so it can be customized to fit the specific requirements of a host of different applications.

“Moreover,” Chen explains, “with the onboard M.2 NVMe SSD, it can boost up the read/write performance. Plus, our customers not only benefit from American Portwell’s ability to consistently provide the most up-to-date technology and features, but they also gain peace of mind from the long life cycle support inherent with every Portwell product.”

Custom system design service and manufacture is also available to OEM.
