Captec\’s New 2U and 4U Industrial Computer Range

Captec, designers and manufacturers of specialist computing platforms, has announced the launch of its new 2U and 4U rackmount industrial computer range. The portfolio has been architected to offer customers optimized flexibility in configuration, while creating competitive lead times of two to three weeks.

The development of a unique three-tiered selection model for chassis and motherboard enables customers to define the specifications that meet their exact performance and budgetary requirements. This creates 18 configuration variants, supported by a full scope of options for CPU, memory, storage, operating system and expansion cards.

It is available with Intel’s latest 7th generation processing technology, delivering unprecedented power and performance. This reflects Captec’s commitment to offering its customers access to the newest evolutions in specialist computing technologies.

The units are capable of 24/7 operation and are equipped with a wide temperature range, enabling them to perform demanding applications safely and continuously. Platforms can also be specified with fan filters to provide protection from dust ingress. Available security features include lockable doors, intrusion detection and Intel® Trusted Execution Technology.

The selection of roadmapped industrial components extends longevity of up to seven years. This acts to protect customers from change and negates the need to update, reconfigure and requalify software.

Standardized component options are stocked at Captec’s UK and Canada integration centres, supporting a significant reduction in lead-times and creating the fastest possible route to market.

Captec can further customise the range through a series of specialized services. These include custom branding, software installation, customer card configuration, engineering modifications, and pre-compliance testing at its dedicated in-house test facilities.
