Ethernet has been with us for a long time. Why hasn't it gone the way of most technologies, and been replaced by something smaller, faster, and cheaper? Well, in a way, it has, as it's constantly re-inventing itself.

I spent five minutes with Martin Nuss, the CTO, VP of Technology and Strategy at Vitesse Semiconductor, and he made it clear why Ethernet is here, and why other protocols are not.
