At embedded world 2017, VIA Technologies will showcase a range of “Smart Transportation Solutions, including its Smart Taxi Internet of Things (IoT) Acceleration Platform, Smart Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot IoT Acceleration Platform, HMI Panel Display Starter Kit, and HMI System Platform, all supported by VIA’s Custom IoT Design Services.

VIA’s Smart Taxi IoT Acceleration Platform combines the quad-core Cortex-A9-based VIA AMOS-825 fanless industrial PC with an LCD monitor for applications including navigation, route tracking, and driver notification, while the Smart Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot IoT Acceleration Platform integrates a 4G module into the VIA AMOS-820, which supports the Android operating system (OS) and can enable high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity for passengers in transit.

The HMI solutions on display include the company’s HMI Panel Display Starter Kit, an integrated board with an optional 17” display and Linux board support package (BSP) that enables HTML5 digital signage applications for systems such as timetables and queue management. The VAB-630 HMI System Platform combines a 3.5” single-board computer with a 10.1” touch panel display for use in transportion kiosks and other signage systems.
