My colleague Rory Dear did a brief pre-show write up on the Internet of Things (IoT) interoperability framework being developed by Swedish startup Tuxera, but what I found while digging a little deeper at their suite near COMPUTEX was the company’s track record of file system development.

To achieve optimum filesystem performance, Tuxera embeds its filesystems code into the Linux kernel, thereby yielding much faster read/write speeds. In particular, the Tuxera NTFS leverages hardware acceleration and other optimization technology to produce what the company claims is the fastest filesystem performance on the market today. The plug n’ play Tuxera NTFS supports all HDDs and USB flash drives for maximum interoperability, company reps said, and also supports embedded RTOSs including QNX, Nucleus, Windows CE Embedded, Wind River VxWorks, and Android, among others.
