In this edition of Dev Kit Weekly, Perry breaks down the AVR-BLE Development Board from Microchip Technology.
The board sits at the sweet spot of IoT connectivity, security, and ultra-low power. It’s so low power, that users can run it off a single coin cell battery, which as it happens, the user could mount in this CR2032 holder on the back side of the module.
The AVR-BLE Development Board features:
- RN4870 Bluetooth module that supports Bluetooth Low Energy and is also compliant with the new Bluetooth 5 specification
- Microchip’s ATECC608A CryptoAuthentication secure element
- 8-bit AVR ATmega3208 running at 20 mega-hertz
- LightBlue, an iOS and Android development application created by PunchThrough
If you’re interested in getting one of these kits for yourself, you can buy one directly from Digi-Key for just $29.00. Or, thanks to Digi-Key, our sponsor for this week’s raffle, you could be the lucky winner of one of ten AVR-BLE development boards that we’ll be giving away for free to raffle participants.
Good luck in this week’s raffle, thanks for watching, and we’ll see you next week on Dev Kit Weekly.
