Competition Finalist Lives at the IoT Fog Layer

Software AG was a finalist in Dell’s Connect What Matters competition. The company designed a system that operates in the IoT’s fog layer. I started my interview with Sean Riley, Software AG’s Global Industry Director for Manufacturing and Transportation by asking him to describe, at least with his definition, the fog layer. Then we went on to discuss why his system, designed with Dell’s Edge Gateway 5000, which is rugged enough to withstand a manufacturing environment, yet robust enough to provide the compute power for this application.
