 | | RTL simulation is no longer capable of providing all of the verification required for today’s complex designs. Modern systems are a complex mixture of hardware and software, digital and analog[ ], and the boundaries of the system are often difficult to define. |
| This paper provides an in-depth look at Synopsys’ new UMRBus (Universal Multi-Resource Bus) interface – the unique communications architecture that provides users of HAPS systems with: a built-in mechanism that allows bi-directional data exchange for more efficient debug; co-simulation for fast system bring-up; accelerated transaction-based verification and a physical connection to virtual prototyping environments through standard SCE-MI interfaces. |
| For the second year in a row, Byte Paradigm has conducted an online survey to understand the role of using a ‘live’ prototype for testing and debugging embedded systems. This year, we paid special attention to the equipment that the electronic engineer finds in the lab or on the desk to efficiently test and debug embedded systems. Results show that using a prototype is widely seen as a way to speed up debugging and that digital pattern generators are gaining success for the generation of digital input stimuli. |

| Learn about accelerating software development schedules using virtual platforms, which enable software development 6-9 month prior to availability of the actual hardware on which software executes. Get the hard facts from a USB case study in which the driver development time was reduced by 8 weeks and the bring up on hardware became easy given that software had been brought up on a virtual platform already. |
