MEN Mikro Elektronik expands its successful MIPIOS(r) family by two additional rugged Ethernet switches. Due to the extremely durable aluminum housing and the robust M12 connectors, they find their applications mainly in harsh and mobile environments.

PICMG has announced the release of the CompactPCI PlusIO specification, numbered PICMG 2.30. This new specification adds the serial PCI Express, Ethernet, SATA, SAS and USB extensions to the CompactPCI family of specifications while preserving PCI bus connectivity.

MEN presents a new safety-critical Embedded application – its first complete conduction cooled rack. This rack allows to use every 3U CompactPCI board designed for ventilated systems even in an environment which needs conductive cooling.

MEN Mikro Elektronik introduces the first 3U CompactPCI board with conductive cooling. The F50C is based on Freescale’s MPC8548 and was particularly designed for application in harsh environmental conditions.

The P511 is qualified for the extended temperature range of -40 to +85°C and prepared for coating against dust and humidity. For this reason it is perfectly suited for use in safety-critical or mobile applications. Long-time availability until at least 2019 guarantee that the user’s project is future-safe.

MEN Mikro Elektronik presents a new ESMexpress module – the XM2 – with a performance range which has not been reached on Computer-On-Modules until now. Equipped with the new Intel Core 2 Duo SP9300 with a clock frequency of up to 2.26 GHz and the graphics controller GS45, the XM2 is especially well suited for visualization applications in the railway, avionics, medical engineering and industrial automation markets.

MEN presents a Reflective Memory PMC mezzanine card. The PMC module P512 is well suited for use in safety-critical applications, offers a high transmission speed and high flexibility.

MEN Mikro Elektronik expands its product line of robust Ethernet switches by another CompactPCI card. The F302 offers eight Fast Ethernet channels on RJ45, M12 or D-Sub, corresponds to the EN 50155 railway standard and provides a number of options for individual port configuration via a special service interface at the front.

Right on time for Embedded World 2008 in Nuremberg MEN Mikro Elektronik is coming up with another two mezzanine cards with FPGA[] functionality. The two FPGA based modules introduced one year ago – the P599 PMC and M199 M-Module™ – are now getting company by a conduction-cooled PMC, P598, and an XMC module, P699. The USM™ Universal Submodule concept that this I/O family is built on implements the desired functionality as IP cores inside the FPGA of the mezzanine card, while the line drivers are located on a submodule.
