Computex 2015 will see the launch of Apacer’s enhanced data security technology on industrial SSDs. UrKey uses a dual-connector USB dongle to control major security functions, including write protect, erase, and destroy – the same functions can now also be triggered by near-field-communication (NFC) technology. NFC is a safe, convenient, and low power consumption technology, increasingly available on today’s smartphones, thus enabling a device to be instantly secured or destroyed wirelessly without accessing the host machine or flash medium. The Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T) function can also be queried to derive medium’s status and reliability via NFC.
