Octasic Experiences Unprecedented Growth in 2007; Paves Path for First Shipments of Groundbreaking Vocallo Chipset in 2008

Company records over 50 percent growth in 2007 revenues, adds key management role, and expands product line

January 7th, 2008

MONTREAL, Quebec, Canada – January 7, 2008 – Octasic Inc., a leading innovator of media processing solutions, today announced that after posting a 57 percent leap in revenue during 2007, the company is poised to deliver its groundbreaking Vocallo chipset — the next generation multi-core gateway DSP platform for voice, video and data over IP applications – in early 2008.

“This past year was simply tremendous for us,” said Michel Laurence, Octasics chairman and CEO. “The strength of our products, our continued expansion into international markets, and our exciting new product developments are propelling the company forward. We look forward to an exciting 2008, as our recently announced Vocallo product ships and we enter new, diversified market areas.”

Based on Opus, Octasics DSP core architecture, the Vocallo expandable media gateway solution is the first DSP platform of its kind to enable a new flexible business model for OEMs designing media gateways. Qualified customers are participating in its Early Access Program, providing a “first look” at Vocallo, along with technical assistance and advantageous pricing.

“Octasics growth is remarkable given the weak market conditions for communications semiconductors in 2007,” said Joseph Byrne, senior analyst at The Linley Group. “The new high-density Vocallo voice processor expands the opportunities Octasic can pursue.”

During 2007, Octasics presence in international markets grew, with Asia now representing nearly 40 percent of the companys revenue. The company also added several new field application engineers in the region to support its growing customer base. In addition, the companys workforce grew by 50 percent, enhancing its engineering, marketing, sales and support departments.

Octasic achieved several other important milestones in 2007:

·The company released its SoftEcho product – the industrys most effective echo cancellation technology for a variety of VoIP and hands-free applications.

·The company joined forces with three leading partners for its SoftEcho technology: Microsoft, ARM and Symbian. Together, these partners help Octasic provide the best echo cancellation solutions on the market.

·Alain Legault joined the company as vice president of engineering. Mr. Legault, formerly vice president of development for video products at Matrox, will lead Octasics engineering team and its new developments in the video space.
