OmniVision and OPKIX Wearable Video Camera is Compatible with Smartphones

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. and OPKIX have released the OPKIX One, a wearable camera that is easily integrated with smartphones.

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. and OPKIX have released the OPKIX One, a wearable camera that is easily integrated with smartphones. It includes two cameras that capture simultaneous views, and an egg-shaped case, which charges and quickly transfers video to a paired smartphone for storage and editing. Each camera has OmniVision’s OV798 video processor and an OV2732 image sensor.

The OV798 sustains high-performance video recording at a capacity of 1080p resolution and can record up to 15 minutes of uninterrupted video footage on one battery charge.

OmniVision’s PureCel technology manufactured the OV2732 sensor, which has a 1920 x 1080 active range of multiple programmable controls and automatic image control operations.

“We started with a vision for a product that would change how the world captures, edits and socially shares videos quickly and simply. And we knew that our vision required innovation at all levels of product development,” said Lawrence Greaves, OPKIX’s CEO. “We were relentless in our pursuit of the components that would allow us to create a product that would deliver uncompromising video quality for our users. We are pleased to have partnered with OmniVision and utilize their compact, ultra-low-power sensors and processors in our camera units to help us deliver on our vision.”
