AT4 wireless extends capabilities and scope in the MiNT T2100+ Pre-RCT for WiMAX(tm)
7 months 1 week ago

Taipei, Taiwan, 1st of April 2009 — AT4 wireless increases the scope of their WiMAX™ pre-RCT test system. The new MiNT T2100+ based on the MiNT E1130, BS/MS emulator developed by AT4 wireless, supports now around 90% of the RF Certification Testing.

The new MiNT T2100+, based on the existing pre-RCT MiNT T2100, increases the Test Case coverage by adding a Spectrum Analyzer with vector signal capabilities to the set up, becoming the most complete and versatile solution for developers and integrators.

Based on the MiNT E1130, BS/MS emulator, which supports HARQ, MIMO, internal fading and all the official profiles defined by the WiMAX Forum®, the MiNT T2100+ provides pre-Certification of 802.16-2005 for both MS and BS devices, supporting the vast majority of the RF measurements required for WiMAX Forum Certification like PER, CER, RSSI, Spectral Flatness, Sensitivity, CINR, etc. With the MiNT T2100+ Tester, manufacturers of WiMAX BS/MS devices will be able to increase their RF Testing shortening the gap to Certification and therefore expediting new product launch in the market, as well as reducing the re-testing during the Certification process.

Additionally, the modularity design of the product enables to easily upgrade the MiNT T2100 to the MiNT T2100+ or to the validated systems for Certification, Protocol Conformance Tester MiNT T223x (PCT) and Radio Conformance Tester MiNT T2110 (RCT) according to the customer testing needs. It also provides an affordable starting point for those interested in rationalize their investments.

“The MiNT T2100 Plus extends the excellent performance of our own developed emulator, MiNT E1130, with the capabilities of the Spectrum Analyzer. Listening to our customers we realized how important it is for them to increase the testing scope of their pre-RCT. Thus, we provide a straightforward upgrade to them in order to reach around 90% of the RF Testing required for Certification. This is indeed having an exceptional reception and we are glad to continue to support our customers with their testing requirements” states Adrián García Muñoz, WiMAX Product Manager at AT4 wireless.

About the WiMAX™ Technology

WiMAX, the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, is a telecommunications technology aimed at providing wireless data over long distances in a variety of ways, from point-to-point links to full mobile cellular type access. It is based on the IEEE 802.16 standard, which is also called WirelessMAN. The name WiMAX was created by the WiMAX Forum, which was formed in June 2001 to promote conformance and interoperability of the standard. The forum describes WiMAX as "a standards-based technology enabling the delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL."
