Boston, December 07, 2005 – PolySpace Technologies, the leading provider of static verification solutions for embedded software, today announced that it has signed a large licensing agreement with a world-leading aircraft engine manufacturer. The client will use PolySpace products to accelerate code review on certified (DO-178B level A) code. This move will help the client ensure the flawless reliability of its embedded applications by accelerating the detection and resolution of certain critical software flaws, such as overflows and mathematic exceptions. These errors are usually very difficult to find through conventional testing.
PolySpace will also allow the client to find these errors earlier in the development cycle, preventing them from impeding system tests, which are expensive and time-consuming.
The client is one of the largest aircraft engine manufacturers in the world, which sold its products to more than 400 airline companies worldwide. The company is also involved in the development of a variety of Military airborne systems.
Says Chris Hote, General Manager of PolySpace Technologies Inc: "Aerospace companies must adhere to the most demanding software quality standards, such as DO-178B. The feedback of our civilian and military clients is clear: they appreciate PolySpace unique ability to track down software faults, as it helps them achieve their stringent software reliability goals much faster. PolySpace also ensures these errors do not show up later on during system tests, a major hurdle in the Aerospace industry.”
