The Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has been named the Texas Instruments High Reliability Product Division’s 2008 Distributor of the Year. The award recognizes Avnet as the distributor with the highest sales revenue of Texas Instruments’ (TI) high reliability/space grade products during the 2008 calendar year in the Americas region.

Bryan Brady, vice president of defense/aerospace for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, accepted the award on behalf of the company in Phoenix today. “TI is well-known in the industry for its extensive array of products that operate in extreme temperatures and rugged environments – making them ideal for many defense and aerospace applications,” said Brady. “Being named Distributor of the Year is a terrific recognition of the Avnet team’s efforts to promote and deliver TI capabilities to our customers – one we hope to earn again in 2009.”
