Berlin/San Francisco, 3. April 2009.- German exhibitors present Security solutions for mobile devices and their connection to corporate networks at the RSA Conference in San Francisco. Ciphony of mobile phones, smartcard-chips in cell phones and secure smartphones are just a few examples for world leading technology from Germany.
One focus of the German Pavilion is "Security for Mobility". The German IT Security companies show innovative solutions for mobile phones and Blackberrys as well as their connection to the central VPN (Virtual Private Network) of corporations. The use of smartcard-chips in cell phones and PDAs belongs to the most interesting developments in IT Security.
NCP engineering presents the universal IPSec Client Suite for the secure connection of external applications to the protected corporate network. Existing directory services and management systems can be connected to the central NCP VPN management. The software is compatible to the gateways of all well-known VPN manufacturers and supports the operating systems Windows, Symbian und Linux.
The Nuremberg-based company certgate is going to present its latest innovation: the Protector for Smart Phones, a hardware-based security solution for the reliable protection even of very sensitive data and mobile communications. A smart card of the microSD type is used to encrypt both user data and access/retrieval rights. This enables security-conscious businesses to integrate smart phones into their firm networks without having to worry about opening potential security gaps. One variant of this scalable solution is designed for highest security demands and is recommended for application in German government bodies by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
Rohde & Schwarz will highlight the TopSec Mobile voice encryption device at RSA Conference 2009. The device connects to standard commercial mobile phones over the Bluetooth interface and provides confidential, tap-proof communications throughout the world. The encryption is embedded in the TopSec Mobile hardware to avoid the danger of manipulation to the GSM phone.
cv cryptovision demonstrates at the RSA Security Conference how digital certificates can be used cross platform. The Gelsenkirchen-based company shows solutions for the management and the usage of digital certificates on Windows-desktops (with smart card), Linux-Desktops (with smart card) and mobile phones (with microSD-chips). These solutions enable a holistic security similarly protecting different components of a company.
secunet Security Networks based in Essen introduces the SINA Mobile Disk to the American market, an external USB hard drive with hardware encryption. The device features an integrated display and a touchpad making it possible to conduct a PC-independent authentication via PIN directly on the device.
With mIDentity KOBIL demonstrates a smartcard reader in USB format making applications mobile and highly secure. It is comfortably running on every platform without any installation (MAC, Windows, Linux). Thanks to the integrated smart card mIDentity can not only be used as a highly secure data safe, but moreover it provides the digital identity for highly secure login and enables the secure access to mobile applications.
The Darmstadt-based company CORISECIO expands its mobile PKI solution by the support of RIM BlackBerry. Without limiting the user friendliness the complete BlackBerry communication is secured by PKI encryption. Central administration, automatic roll-out and other functions enable a seamless integration into the corporate infrastructure.
Sirrix presents the Sirrix.GSM CryptoGateway, a world novelty in the area of secure voice communication. The CryptoGateway connects encrypted calls between secure mobile phones and any standard phone set acting as an extension of a private branch exchange within an organisation. This ensures that outsiders are always faced with fully encrypted voice calls while at the same time ensuring that any extension within the organisation can be used to communicate with secure mobile phones.
About TeleTrusT Germany
The purpose of the non-profit organization TeleTrusT Deutschland e.V. is to create trustworthy and reliable conditions for the application of information- and communication technologies. Since its foundation in 1989 the association developed into a widely known and respected competence network for applied IT-Security in Germany and Europe. Today TeleTrusT represents more than 85 members from industry, science and research as well as administration.
In different project groups the members discuss current questions in IT-Security and Security Management and benefit from the mutual know-how exchange.
