FREMONT, CA, United States, 7/20/17 – Themis Computer, a manufacturer of rugged computing platforms, today announced the launch of its next generation XR6 Rugged Enterprise Servers (RES) featuring the newest Intel Xeon Scalable (Skylake) Processors.

“The inexorable march of Moore’s Law continues,” said Bill Kehret, CEO of Themis Computer. “and our latest generation of Rugged Enterprise server products will continue to offer the industry’s best value for mission critical applications, outside the datacenter.”

The first available RES-XR6 server; a 1U with eight front access drives, is comprised of two Intel® Xeon® Gold Skylake processors with up to twenty-four cores per socket, up to 1.5TB ECC DDR4 2666MHz Memory, 3PCIe x16 slots, eight SAS3 capable 2.5” front access drive slots for either SSD or HDD storage, and two onboard 1Gbit Ethernet (optional 10Gbit Ethernet) ports. Additionally, all XR6 RES servers come with IPMI v2.0, TPM 2.0 and are compatible with popular hypervisors and operating systems. Optimized for size, weight, and power (SWaP), the system weighs only 22lbs, is 20” deep, and is capable of meeting a wide variety of MIL-STD environmental specifications. A robust array of high speed I/O, storage options, enhanced reliability features, and expansion choices allow users maximum flexibility for current and future system requirements.

RES-XR6 Product Family Highlights

• Greater Performance: Embedded Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors with Intel® AVX-512 accelerate compute-intensive workloads for applications such as signal intelligence, cryptography, AI, surveillance, sensor fusion, analytics, communications, and audio/video processing. Additional cores, a 50% increase in memory channels, and 20% more PCIe lanes deliver higher performance and scalability.

• Designed to be on the move: RES-XR6 systems are enclosed in a lightweight, corrosion resistant aluminum and stainless steel chassis. A specially designed dust cover, new memory retention + vibration dampeners, and optional tamper-proofing and tamper-evidence features offer users extra security for operations on the move.

• Scalability: System expansion is available through the addition of commercially available, off the shelf (COTS) networking cards, specialized processing such as encryption, high speed storage, and other value-added options.

• Environmental Resiliency: Standard configuration RES-XR6 servers are designed to operate from 0°C to +50°C, greater temperature extremes are available for special configurations. Advanced thermal and mechanical design features provide superior resilience to shock, vibration, dust, sand, and temperature extremes. Dual redundant, hot swappable AC or DC power supplies provide high availability. MIL-STD-461 power supplies are also available.

Pricing and Availability: RES-XR6-1U servers are available now. Product details are available at www.themis.com/res-xr6
