One for all - from the sensor to the cloud. The new cloud-based IPC TANK-860-QGW from ICP Deutschland captures, processes, manages and visualizes data thanks to its special IIoT software package. It is the perfect IIoT platform for application users who want to get started right away. In practice, data collection is often heterogeneous. This means that the TANK-860-QGW detects measuring or sensor data from machines and systems via existing bus systems - serial interfaces and Ethernet LAN ports. On the other hand, the customer-specific data acquisition takes place via digital I / O or plug-in cards. Depending on the model, 2 to 6 slots are available for PCIe, PCI and full-size PCIe mini-cards. Is data recorded, it must be processed further. This is where the preinstalled QTS operating system Embedded Linux comes in. An essential part of the IIoT software package is the QNAP Container Station, which supports the two virtualization technologies LXC (OS) and Docker® (applications). Within the Container Station, developers can access a variety of existing apps to create their own IIoT applications. Among other functions the apps support the conversion of proven industrial protocols (e.g. Modbus) into next-generation protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, which are necessary to communicate with the cloud. In addition, message protocols can be translated with message brokers such as Ponte or RabbitMQ. The incoming data signals are processed by means of a rule engine such as Node-RED and defined actions - temperature control, alarm in the event of deviations, are executed. The different sensor and device data can be merged, stored and managed in databases such as MongoDB and MySQL. In order for these processes to be visually comprehensible and not only pass through in the background, apps such as Freeboard or Dashing are available. They enable an individual design of user interfaces on mobile end devices and dashboards on desktop PCs. With the TANK-860-QGW, ICP offers a flexible, customizable IIoT platform that allows users to port data to public or private clouds, according to defined rules.
