To make the deployment of Korenix JetBox 8150 X86 based industrial compact communication computer more flexible and easily manageable, Korenix launches a new additional Operating System for Linux users – the popular Linux distribution Fedora 10. Users can now benefit from the new ready-to-use OS of JetBox 8150 with abundant networking related protocols and no additional software costs while deploying the computer for various industrial applications.
As the standard Fedora 10 targets general commercial users, it contains number of unnecessary office tools for industrial applications. To best adapt it in these industrial deployments, Korenix introduces 2.7G compressed Fedora 10, which includes popular SW modules. Moreover, the compressed Fedora 10 is stored on a CF card for providing a reliable connectivity in harsh or vibrating environment – reliability which is unlikely to be provided while using hard drive. The JetBox 8150 with pre-installed Linux CompactFlash card is a ready-to-use solution.
To provide even more advanced functionality, Korenix JetBox 8150 Linux also includes openVPN and openSWAN to enable the VPN function working in Linux as well as cross windows system. Besides, JetBox 8150 carries 2 LAN ports for making it an ideal solution of front-end VPN device.
In addition to compact design of JetBox 8150, which includes dual USB2.0 and dual RJ-45 ports, RS-232 and RS-232/422/485 serial ports, VGA, high resolution audio, the VIA Eden V4 1GHz based computer (1GB DDRII RAM) supports web server services, i.e. best fitting in the network communication environment. All this features compressed in a tiny computer with Linux Fedora 10 improve the usability of JetBox 8150 in industrial domain while allowing users to easily build their integrated communication solutions.
