Charlottesville, VA. GE Power Automation & Controls has added dual redundancy capability to its PACSystems RX3i CPE400 controllers, which makes it possible to perform maintenance and application updates while an application continues to run. The redundancy features are easy to configure, and powered by the PACSystems’ High Availability solution over PROFINET.

CPE400 controllers utilize embedded Gigabit Ethernet technology in a a standalone package, resulting in high-speed data throughput a 60 percent smaller footprint. The rugged controllers are designed to function in operating temperatures ranging from -40ºC to +70ºC. Conformal coating options are available.

CPE400 controllers are augmented by the Predix analytics platform that adds machine learning and big data insights to real-time control functions. A companion Control System Health app is also provided that gives engineers insight into device status and health.

For security, the controllers incorporate a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and secure boot processes that ensure system integrity and secure, authenticated data transfer from controllers to the cloud.
