COMPUTEX Taipei: Cervoz industrial storage brings TÜV-certified MLC, SLC to embedded

June 6, 2015 OpenSystems Media

One of a few storage vendors that I met with at COMPUTEX, Cervoz is a manufacturer of MLC and SLC flash SSDs for the embedded/IPC industry, but what sets them apart is that their single unified product management approach for all components yields a complete portfolio of TÜV-certified storage solutions.

According to Cervoz reps, MLC components make up about 80 percent of the company’s SSD sales, which falls in line with the low-cost demands of the IPC market. However, a clever trick of firmware in their Reliance series MLC SSDs called RO-MLC technology allows the hardware to be managed with the same control available on SLC chips, making the solution a great fit for designers looking for a happy medium between price and reliability. These 2.5” SATA III SSDs are available in densities ranging from 8 GB to 500 GB, with read/write speeds as high as 525 Mbps/430 Mbps.
